September classes
Hi guys, just to give you an idea of where we are going next week. Remember you took a handout on Thursday - it's about "Tips for Evaluating Sources" -- it will help you decide whether an on-line source is credible or not. Please read it for next week. I am going to have you bring in three articles you got off the Internet and evaluate them for credibility, using that handout as a guide. Then I am going to have you list ten questions (if you haven't already) related to your top three possible topics. You will then think of a way to phrase your EBSCOhost keyword search so you can find answers to those questions. By Thursday you will have at least 3 EBSCOhost articles and 3 Internet articles in class with you. I will then have you do some preliminary research and show you how to keep track of your sources using APA format, and what to include on your note cards. So yes, you will need your two sizes of notecards by next Thursday. It will be a lot of information and I might go too fast sometimes, so please post any questions you may have on the blog. ReplyDeleteLess-means things that cannot be counted. End of the week vote which we like better Facebook or Blog. Handed back homework, grading system for homework is if the paper is worth 15 pts. each error is .15 off. The errors on the paper had a letter S-you have a style e...rror, M-a mechanical error, C-content error, F-formatting error, T-error in the tone of the paper. Email all homewrok as a Word Document with an attachment. We need to make an outline using our thesis statement. Please have three roman numerals in the outline and hand in at the end of class today. Follow the order of the thesis statement. You should be able to pull apart the thesis into three parts for your outline.You should continue to read for your research paper. You can make changes to it up to no later then two weeks of it being due. Remember if the thesis doesn't match your research paper don't throw out the paper throw out the thesis.
